Athletic Highlight

In Montreal, I was very serious about classical ballet dancing, but once I moved to Vancouver, I decided it was time to move on from my dancing career because I was at the time in my life where I could become professional or simply take weekly classes. I had to find something to keep me in shape and stay healthy. I decided to start going to the West Van Gym.

This activity has benefit me body in the short run, and in the long run. For now, I have started to build a variety of muscles and strength. I have also improved my heart and able to run for a certain amount of time that has drastically improved since I started in September. In the long run, living a healthy lifestyle can entirely elongate my life. It will reduce the possibilities of becoming ill, and becoming overweight.

I always set weekly goals for myself, which has enabled me to be successful at living a healthier lifestyle. I also set individual goals for every time I am at the center exercising.
I see myself continuously doing this activity throughout my future. As I said before, it will always benefit my body and health. There are always senior citizens at the gym and I hope to one day being in good shape like them. For the following four years, during university, I will be moving into an apartment building that has a gym in the basement therefore it will be easy for my to continue this activity.

This activity allowed me to manage stress and emotional health. Whenever I have too many things to do, or too many things on my mind that are causing me stress or any kind of unhappiness, I find it easiest for me to go to the gym and work my sorrows away. By exercising, I find that I get a sort of release from any problem I may be having and it gives me time to really think things through.

In conclusion, exercising has changed my lifestyle and my health. It has entirely improved my way of living and I think that it was an excellent life decision of mine.

Academic Highlight #1

I chose to write about this particular piece of work because it truly demonstrates my progression and success in the French language. This essay was written for the AP French 12 course, which I find myself to be enjoying very much. The essay was based on our future career goals after completing university. This topic is very relevant to all grade 12 students because we are all applying to post-secondary institutes, which will lead us to choosing our career. This essay made us take into account what are our priorities and goals in life are and how we suggest we can achieve them.

This essay, clearly written in French, allowed me to practice my writing skills. I’ve improved my writing by a great amount since the beginning of high school. The end product of this essay, which had very few errors, and its good and organized development, was 97%. I can surely say that this is the highest mark I have ever received on a French essay ever since I started writing French, back in grade 1.

Since I plan on moving back to Montreal after completing grade 12 in Vancouver, it was essential that I continue to take French class because French is a very important language in Quebec. You must be bilingual to get a job in Montreal. This essay helped me keep up my writing abilities for when I move back to Quebec and will allow me to be successful in the future.

I think what allowed me to be successful in this assignment was how I completed it. I took my time at writing and really thinking about all the French rules on grammar, punctuation, conjugation, just to name a few. I wrote a rough copy, reviewed and edited it, and then I wrote a final copy, which was almost perfect. I will try to write al of m assignments this way in order to keep receiving good marks like this one.

The biggest thing I achieved from this highlight was a boost of confidence. It led me to realize that I am excelling in French class and am doing extremely well. It gave me pride and happiness, and relief. Writing has never been my best skill, so receiving an outstanding mark like this one was especially pleasing.
